Presentation

Patient is known case of osteopetrosis.

Patient Data

Age: 25 Years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Internal fixation for bilateral femoral fractures. There is diffuse increase in bone density. These pathological fractures are secondary to osteopetrosis. Erlenmeyer flask deformity is also seen in this case. 

Case Discussion

Osteopetrosis is disorder due to inability of osteoclasts to resorb bone. It is characterized by diffuse sclerosis of bones which are extremely brittle and typically leads to multiple fractures.
