Osteosarcoma pulmonary metastases

Presentation

Cough and fever. Recent chemotherapy.

Patient Data

Age: 17 years
Gender: Male

Left-sided Portacath well positioned. Right proximal humeral intramedullary nail.

Multiple rounded left pulmonary masses and pleural effusion. Patchy infiltrates in the left lower zone and to a lesser extent the right lower zone.

Case Discussion

The patient was known to have metastatic disease in the lungs. The right humeral nail was part of an attempted limb salvage procedure as the primary malignancy was located in the humerus. He was treated for pneumonia and improved over a week.
