CT scout reveals large blank area at the right iliac fossa that contains calcification and displaces the adjacent bowel. CT reveals large right adnexal multi loculated cystic lesion that contains fat, fluid and calcification. It displaces the adjacent bowel loops and compresses the right ureter causing hydronephrosis and delayed right renal excretion.
Mature cystic teratoma (ovarian dermoid cyst) is a benign tumor that contains cells from all germ layers (endoderm, mesoderm and ectoderm). Diagnosis can be made by ultrasonography, CT or MRI with the detection of fat and calcification within the lesion.
