- anteverted uterus
- left ovary enlarged relative to right secondary to it containing a predominantly anechoic structure with posterior acoustic enhancement. The cyst contains an echogenic 'Rokitansky' nodule within
- both ovaries demonstrate normal flow. No features of torsion
- no pelvic free fluid

- review of a pelvic X-ray from 6 years prior revealed a radio-opaque structure within the left adnexal region with morphology constant with a tooth
- no other abnormality identified
Case Discussion
Ovarian dermoid cysts or mature cystic ovarian teratomas are common ovarian lesions, often found incidentally in females.
They are sometimes associated with ovarian torsion as they can act as a lead point. In this case, the ovaries were otherwise normal with preserved blood flow.
This case illustrates a nice example of the tooth component of the dermoid within the left adnexa from an x-ray several years prior.
