Vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain. Positive beta-HCG.
Patient Data
Gestational sac is noted in the right ovary. Right ovary was not distinctly visible.
The mean gestational sac diameter corresponding to a pregnancy of 6 weeks.
The uterus with its endometrium was intact. No gestational sac within it.
Case Discussion
The features combined with history and lab correlation is suggestive of ectopic pregnancy - ovarian rather than tubal pregnancy. For more definite characterization, transvaginal ultrasound can better demonstrate the findings and clearly separate a tubal from ovarian pregnancy. This patient was lost to follow up.
