Ovarian torsion

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Right lower abdominal pain, vomiting - started 5 days back.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

RIGHT OVARY -  Grossly odematous  - 69 x 38 x 38 mm - 68 cc.
                       - Small peripherally orineted follicles seen
                       - No venous or arterial flow noted.
    
LEFT OVARY -  10 cc. Multiple small follicles. Preserved vasculariy. 

Uterus is normal.

No extra-ovarian adnexal mass lesion is noted.

No free fluid is noted in pelvis.

Case Discussion

Enlarged - odematous right ovary without mass lesion, peripherally oriented small follicles, absent arterial as well as venous flow in patient with local pain, suggest ovarian torsion.

No surgical follow up.
