Incidental finding at MRI lumbar spine for low back pain.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Male

Markedly expanded left ilium with a bizarre signal intensity pattern.

x-ray

Anterior radiograph of the pelvis confirms suspicion of Paget disease in left ilium and right upper femur i.e. expansion of bone with sclerosis and coarsening of trabecular pattern.

The case demonstrates how plain radiographs can be of value in case of "bizzare" looking MRI skeletal findings.
