The illustration depicts a completely fused renal mass which is situated anterior to the bifurcation of the abdominal aorta. Vascular supply to a pancake kidney may be grossly abnormal with multiple vessels traveling from the common iliac vessels or lower aorta/ivc to various locations in the kidney.
