Moderate knee joint effusion with bone marrow edema at the lateral femoral condyle and medial aspect of the patella. Disruption of the medial patellar retinaculum. Chondral injury on medial aspect of the patella is also noted.
Case Discussion
Features are suggestive of lateral patellar dislocation. It can be recurrent in sport people, commonly results from a twisting motion. It occurs due to disruptive changes to the medial patellar retinaculum with associated bone changes at lateral femoral condyle and medial aspect of the patella.
