Presentation

Peritoneal carcinomatosis. Unknown primary as colonoscope could not pass beyond the sigmoid colon.

Patient Data

Age: 65
Gender: Male

FDG PET

Nuclear medicine

PET findings are consistent with a left colonic primary with extensive peritoneal metastases. Left pelvic kidney incidentally noted. 

Case Discussion

Pelvic kidneys are a not uncommon anatomical variant and related to an error during the relative ascent of the kidney during development.
