Peripancreatic pseudocyst

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Abdominal pain and distension. Recent history of pancreatitis about 3 month ago.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Female

Large septated cystic lesion is observed in the vicinity of the proximal portions of pancreas. No soft tissue component or calcification is noted within the cyst. The rest of the pancreas appear normal and pancreatic duct in not dilated.

Case Discussion

Features on CT scan in a patient with recent pancreatitis compatible with pseudocyst. According to the revised Atlanta classification, pseudocysts contain no non-liquefied components within the fluid collection.
