MRI imaging of brain reveals small left eye globe, appears slightly hyperintense in T1W and hyperintense on T2W images and FLAIR sequences, with an abnormal triangular-shaped hypointensity in T2W images extending from retrolental area to region of the optic disc, denoting retinal detachment.
Case Discussion
Persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous, also known as persistent fetal vasculature, is a congenital developmental anomaly of the eye representing micro-ophthalmia with congenital retinal detachment.
