Frontal x-ray demonstrates downward sloping of the anterior ribs and blurring of the right heart border with the displacement of the cardiac silhouette to the left. Features are characteristic of pectus excavatum.

Learning to recognize the features of pectus excavatum on frontal X-rays is worthwhile, to avoid misdiagnosing this appearance as right middle lobe pathology or cardiomegaly.
