The MRI sequences demonstrate:

  • hypolastic anterior pituitary gland
  • absent posterior pituitary gland
  • interrupted pituitary stalk

Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome, also known as pituitary stalk transection syndrome, is characterized by a triad of aplasia or hypoplasia of the anterior pituitary gland, thin or interrupted pituitary stalk, and absent or ectopic posterior pituitary location.
