Synostosis (premature fusion) of the left coronal suture, with reduction of growth on the that side.

Flattening of the forehead on the affected side.

Case Discussion

Left anterior plagiocephaly.

Craniosynostosis refers to premature closure of the cranial sutures. The skull shape then undergoes characteristic changes depending on which suture(s) close early.

Plagiocephaly refers to a type of craniosynostosis in which there is an asymmetric premature closure of the coronal suture (anterior plagiocephaly) or the lambdoid suture (posterior palgiocephaly).
