Presentation

Hard, painful lump on the sole of the foot for about 2 years

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

Ovoid solid mass contiguous with the plantar fascia showing blood flow on color Doppler. The opposite side is normal.

Case Discussion

Plantar fibroma is a non-encapsulated thickening and proliferation of the central and medial bands of the plantar fascia. This lesion is histologically similar to Dupuytren contracture. Some patients have an inherited tendency to both palmar and plantar fibromas.
