Pneumoperitoneum

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Pain in abdomen - 3 days. Increased significantly for last 12 hrs.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Free gas was noted superficial to left lobe of liver and in right iliac fossa.  Fluid with tiny floating echoes is present in right iliac fossa. Odematous small bowel loops noted.

x-ray

Due to pneumoperitoneum on USG, radiograph standing abdomen and Chest were done. Air crescent present under left dome, which was possibly out side stomach.

Case Discussion

Surgically proven case of enteric ( Typhoid ) small bowel perforation.
