Pneumoperitoneum

Presentation

C/o abdominal pain - few hours.

Patient Data

Age: 17 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Free fluid with echoes were present in the abdomen and pelvis. No obvious mass in the pelvis.

Free intraperitoneal gas was present anterior to the left lobe of the liver in the supine position.

An abdominal radiograph was performed after ultrasound.

x-ray

Upright abdominal radiograph shows free intra-abdominal gas under the diaphragm, compatible with pneumoperitoneum.
