COVID-19 positive, dramatic deterioration in the ICU

Patient Data

Age: 70
Gender: Male

There are signs of pneumothorax, pneumomediastinum, pneumoperitoneum and subcutaneous emphysema. The latter distributed to the level of suprahyoid neck (probably, even higher) upwards and abdominal wall tissues downwards. There is also small amount of air around m. triceps on the right (more) and on the left.

Pneumatization of both lungs is decreased bilaterally with anteroposterior gradient. There is also small area of thickened interlobular interstitium in S1/2 of the left lung, probably due to underlying COVID-19. Segmental bronchi are dilated bilaterally.
