Presentation

Cough and expectoration of blood tinged sputum

Patient Data

Age: 75 years old
Gender: Male

Right upper alveolar infiltration and patchy consolidation with two cavities filled with air and fluid. The right middle lobe shows few nodular infiltration. Associated right hilar and mediastinal lymph nodal enlargement is noted.

Case Discussion

The patient had history of previous tuberculous infection during childhood and had an episode of re-infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis which was confirmed with laboratory tests.
