Presentation
Renal transplant performed 5 months earlier. High viral load. Patient attends for transplant biopsy.
Patient Data
Planning scan prior to transplant biopsy - abnormality identified at renal hilum.
Kind thanks to Matt Skalski for his assistance in video editing.
Creatinine 120. For further delineation MRA chosen.
3.5cm pseudoaneurysm at the hilum of the right renal transplant, with the internal yin-yang sign on doppler ultrasound.
Renal artery pseudoanuerysm at the anastomosis site.
Case Discussion
This case demonstrates a post-operative renal transplant pseudoaneurysm, presumably at the anastomosis site with the iliac artery.
It was detected incidentally prior to an ultrasound guided biopsy - ironic given one of the very rare complications of a renal biopsy is a pseudoaneursym formation.
