Posterior ankle impingement syndrome
A young patient presented for the evaluation of chronic mechanical ankle pain. Previously he was suspected to have talus bone fracture.

The study shows fluid intensity posterior to the talus bone with an os trigonum. There is no bone edema. The posterior tibial tendon appears unremarkable.
Os trigonum is a known predisposing factor for the development of chronic mechanical ankle pain.
