Proximal phalanx osteomyelitis following laceration

Laceration within the dorsal soft-tissues overlying the right third proximal phalanx. No bony injury seen. No foreign body identified.

Patient represented 2 months lateral with swelling and discharge. X-ray shows soft tissue swelling of the 3rd digit with aggressive periosteal reaction of the 3rd proximal phalanx in keeping with osteomyelitis.
