Psoas abscess

Left lumbar - posterior - lateral region - diffuse swelling - Few wks. Referred for ultrasound.

Patient Data

Age: 30 - 35 yrs
Gender: Male



US - Huge left psoas abscess was noted herniating on posterior aspect of lumbar region; posterior to oblique muscle. Extension to an abnormal intervertebral lumbar disc was noted. So radiograph was suggested.

RIght Small psoas abscess noted.

Radiograph - L3 - L4 Disc changes with adjacent vertebral body involvement.

Case Discussion

No follow up.

Presumed Tuberculosis.
