Shortness of breath and recent history of lower limb surgery

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male

A hypodense filling defect seen involving the inferior branches of both pulmonary arteries denoting thrombus larger on the right side. No parenchymal lung changes detected

Case Discussion

The patient had silent DVT of the lower limb as he was bed ridden for 4 weeks following his leg surgery. D - Dimer was elevated and pulmonary embolism was suspected.
