Presentation

Follow-up CT for recent lung abscess. Patient now well.

There is a multicystic segment in the medial aspect of the right lung base. On mediastinal windows an artery can be seen arising from the anterior surface of the aorta, just above the diaphragm, which then passes upwards and to the right, to supply this abnormal segment of lung. The venous drainage of the abnormality is via the inferior right pulmonary vein.
