Pulmonary tuberculosis

Case contributed by Dr Natalie Yang

Chest x-ray demonstrates extensive patchy reticulonodular opacities particularly on the left. Peripherally at the junction of mid and upper zones a parenchymal cavity can be identified.

CT confirms the cavity and extensive endobronchial spread particularly within the left upper lobe. In places there is a tree-in-bud appearance.

Case Discussion

Appearances are consistent with pulmonary TB.
