Rathke cleft cyst

Presentation

Slight elevation of prolactin.

Patient Data

Age: Adult
Gender: Female

A 1.5 cm lesion within the mid and anterior portion of sella displaces otherwise normal appearing pituitary tissue posteriorly. The infundibulum lies in the midline. The mass does not extend beyond the diaphragma, and causes no optic chiasm or optic nerve compression, with no evidence of extension into the cavernous sinus.

Case Discussion

This case illustrates what is almost certainly a Rathke cleft cyst. The patient is undergoing imaging follow up.
