There is evidence of T3 disease with linear and nodular extension beyond the serosa into the perirectal fat, best appreciated on the T2 weighted imaging. Tumor infiltration extends toward the mesorectal fascia.

Pathologically-proven rectal cancer

The patient received radiotherapy prior to surgery. At pathology, the tumor was demonstrated to be downsized to T2 disease with clear resection margins.
