Right flank pain for months. Abnormal right kidney on ultrasound.

5 cm right renal cell carcinoma with a horseshoe kidney.

Case Discussion

Although renal tract malignancies are more common in horseshoe kidneys, renal cell carcinoma is not one of them.  The incidence is no different to a normal kidney.  Horseshoe kidney is the common renal fusion anomaly, within a wide spectrum of known developmental renal anomalies.
