Renal cell carcinoma with hypervascular metastases

Presentation

History of renal cell carcinoma.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male

White-out of the left hemithorax with positive mass effect, evidenced by tracheal and mediastinal deviation to the right, in keeping with large pleural fluid collection. 

Large left pleural effusion with enhancing left sided pleural based masses. Multiple bilateral pulmonary nodules.

Large right renal mass.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is one of the causes of hypervascular metastases. RCC is one of the more common cancers to present at an advanced stage because the primary can be asymptomatic.
