Reversible cerebral vasospasm syndrome

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

This elderly woman presented with a 10 day history of recurrent thunderclap headaches.

Patient Data

Gender: Female

Multifocal intracranial stenoses (arrows) are identified. No evidence of SAH, although two small right ICA aneurysms were demonstrated. 

Case Discussion

CSF examination was normal. The history and CTA findings, with multiple focal stenoses, is consistent with RCVS.
