Presentation

Fevers, cough, dyspnea.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Mild cardiomegaly. Right middle lobe consolidation.

The area of consolidation in the right middle lobe seen on chest x-ray is confirmed as a peripheral wedge-shaped focus of consolidation in the medial segment of the right middle lobe.

Minor tree in bud opacity, posterior segment, right upper lobe. Minor biapical pleural thickening. No other focal pulmonary parenchymal or pleural abnormality. No thoracic lymphadenopathy.

 

Case Discussion

In the context of the presenting complaint, these changes reflect pneumonia. The patient was lost to follow-up and the outcome is unknown.
