Presentation
Work up for cough and breath shortness.
Patient Data
Patchy ill-defined mostly subpleural opacities are seen at both lungs suggestive for COVID19 pneumonia. There are also several atelectatic bands scattered bilaterally.
Right sided aortic arch with aberrant left subclavian artery is seen.
Mild degenerative changes as osteophytosis are seen at the thoracic spine.
Case Discussion
Right-sided aortic arch is a type of aortic arch variations characterized by the aortic arch coursing to the right of the trachea. Different configurations can be found based on the supra-aortic branching patterns, with the two most common patterns being the right-sided aortic arch with mirror image branching and the right-sided aortic arch with aberrant left subclavian artery (ALSA).
