Right upper lobe consolidation

Consolidation of the right upper lobe with opacification of the right lower zone. The right heart border is discernible which suggests lower lobe involvement.
The left lung is clear. Normal pleural spaces. Normal cardiomediastinal contours. No displaced rib fractures. No lines or tubes.
Case Discussion
This is a good example of right upper lobe consolidation, with good demarcation of the fissures.
The patient required invasive ventilation but improved with antibiotic therapy.
Bacterial and viral swabs were negative, as were atypical microbiology tests.
