Presentation

Head on collision. ETT and ICC inserted by emergency services. Pulse, BP stable before transfer to radiology.

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

ETT and left ICC noted. Extensive left sided opacity. Loss of normal left hemidiaphragm silhouette.

Left diaphragmatic rupture with herniation of abdominal contents into the thoracic cavity. Left pneumothorax and partial left lung collapse.
