Lower abdominal pain for three months duration.
Patient Data
Note: This case has been tagged as "legacy" as it no longer meets image preparation and/or other case publication guidelines.
Complex solid and cystic pelvic mass containing fat and two teeth in keeping with a mature ovarian teratoma. There was a small subcapsular fat-containing lesion in the right lobe of the liver with wall calcification, in keeping with a subcapsular deposit of fat from a prior rupture of the pelvic teratoma. Similar lesions were identified in other subcapsular regions of the liver.
Case Discussion
Rupture of mature ovarian teratoma is rare and can result in chemical peritonitis.
