Presentation

Post operative DVT.

Patient Data

Age: 65 years
Gender: Male

Saddle embolus.

Extensive thrombus in all the branches of pulmonary arteries with the exception of the right middle lobe. Multiple extensive segmental emboli.  The polo mint sign is illustrated in the left lower lobe pulmonary artery.

Severe right heart strain as evidenced by deflexion of the interventricular septum.

Lungs clear.
