Gender: Male

Minimally displaced fracture through the waist of the scaphoid. Normal carpal alignment.

Dedicated scaphoid view shows the fracture line a little better. 

Case Discussion

Scaphoid fractures often occur after a FOOSH. Acute complications include scapholunate ligament rupture, and in high energy trauma they can occur with perilunate dislocations. Chronic complications include non-union (progressing to SNAC wrist) and avascular necrosis.
