High impact road traffic accident.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Transverse undisplaced fracture of the body of scapula. Humerus and clavicle are normal. No dislocation.

Case Discussion

Scapular fractures are uncommon injuries, depicting around 3% of all shoulder fractures. They usually occur as a result of massive energy trauma, a direct trauma to the shoulder region or indirect trauma through collapsing on an outstretched hand.
