Age: 25-30 years

Scapulothoracic fusion. The inferiormost wire is fractured. Bony union is seen at multiple levels.

Right scapulothoracic fusion with graft material. Bony union at the fifth, sixth, and seventh ribs with near-complete union noted at the sixth rib. Fractured inferiormost metal wire. Lucencies in the distal clavicle from previous ORIF.

Scapulothoracic fusion is an uncommon surgery indicated for disabling pain and/or loss of function (scapulothoracic winging), usually the result of neurological/neuromuscular disease, trauma, or clavicular resection that results in loss of stabilization.
