Severe right knee pain after a motor vehicle accident

There is a small avulsion fracture involving the superolateral surface of the proximal tibia in keeping with Segond fracture.

Case Discussion

Segond fracture is an avulsion injury at the superolateral corner of the tibial plateau seen on frontal knee radiograph. It is frequently associated with anterior cruciate ligaments tear.
