Seminal vesiculitis

Case contributed by Dr Ali Abougazia

Diabetic patient complaining of dysuria.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Both seminal vesicles appear enlarged, thick walled and relatively heterogenous.

Mildly enlarged prostate with ill-defined borders and inhomogenous echogenicity.

Case Discussion

The described prostatic and seminal vesicles' changes are suggestive of seminal vesiculitis as a result of associated prostatitis. Laboratory correlation with prostatic secretion analysis and further evaluation by MRI are advised.
