Infective endocarditis. IVDU.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years old
Gender: Female
ct

Numerous cavitating lung nodules with more confluent areas of consolidation. Bilateral pleural fluid collection. Right pneumothorax with internal fibrous bands. 

Case Discussion

These are common features of septic pulmonary emboli. The source was infective endocarditis, presumably secondary to IVDU.
