Presentation

IV drug user patient with fever and dyspnea.

Patient Data

Age: 31
Gender: Male

Multiple cavitary lesions with surrounding parenchymal opacities are seen in both lungs.

Loculated pneumothorax with heterogeneous fluid collection is noted at the left hemithorax. Small pleural effusion also seen at right side.

Case Discussion

Findings consistent pulmonary septic emboli complicated by a loculated pneumothorax.
