At C5/C6 level there is a well corticated osseous focus, suggestive of a sesamoid ossicle of the nuchal ligament.
Anterior vertebral body osteophyte seen at C4 and C5 levels.
Case Discussion
Sesamoid ossicles of the nuchal ligament are anatomical variants. The primary role of the radiologist is to exclude an avulsion fracture of spinal process.
