Presentation

Snapping sound left shoulder followed by soft tissue swelling in proximal - mid arm anteriorly.

Patient Data

Age: 90 years
Gender: Female

Comparison of bicipital grooves. Massive tear of supraspinatus tendon.

Left: ruptured long head of biceps with surrounding hematoma resulting in "Popeye arm". Massive tear of the supraspinatus tendon. Tear of infraspinatus. Subscapularis thinned out ? degeneration / ? tear. Effusion in bursa as well as joint.

Right: examined for comparison retracted supraspinatus tendon 24 mm.

Bilateral: fatty infiltration as well as atrophy of supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscle bellies.
