Multiple dilated gas-filled loops of small bowel throughout the abdomen. The valvulae conniventes are beautifully illustrated, indicating small bowel. Air-fluid levels are also observed in the erect radiograph.
Case Discussion
Typical appearance of small bowel obstruction on plain radiography. Main findings including dilated bowel loops and air-fluid levels predominantly in central portions of abdomen. The valvulae conniventes can be identified across the full width of the dilated loops confirming it to be small bowel.
