Motorcycle accident. Polytrauma patient. Open left elbow fracture. Left wrist deformity upon physical examination.

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Presentation

x-ray

Wrist radiographs revealed an extra-articular fracture of the distal radius with volar displacement. This describes a Smith fracture.

Post-operative

x-ray

Radiographs performed immediately post-op. The patient underwent open reduction and internal fixation with volar plating of the radius.
