Large superficial fungating soft tissue mass centered in the superficial soft tissues of the right anterior thigh.  The muscle does not appear to be involved.

The mass was excised and the histological diagnosis of soft tissue Ewing sarcoma was made.  The tumor was high grade and the local lymph nodes were positive.

Case Discussion

Soft tissue sarcomas are rare in themselves in children.  Soft tissue Ewing sarcoma is even more rare.  PET-CT confirmed locoregional lymph node involvement, but no distant metastases.

Chemotherapy was administered with the plan for resection and post-operative radiotherapy.
